Daisy, across the Broadway path

The girl with fame

In place of a heart

Singing out those small-town blues

Tied down to the past,

By buckle-up shoes

She would watch her stars

Each day and night

The walk of fame, her paradise

As the sun went down,

She lost disguise, un-zipped her top

Spread out her thighs

A snort of crack, a quick shoot up

Bubbles gone, she’s back on top

Time to grace her stage again

Oh, such a glamorous way

To pay the bills, greasy poles

And one night thrills

She dreamt of meeting Spielberg

To stand up with Monroe

Yet all she earned was money

From those in the front row

She always wanted to be a star,

She was my star

She’s fallen now.

please bear in mind i am only13

and have missed a year of schooling, so my grammar and patterns may be incorrect.

apologies.

thank you in advance.

I have just finished a poem. please may i have your opinions? easy points. best answer to constructive critics
I see you took my advice and wrote a poem about a girl who becomes a prostitute due to desperation, and I really like the mood you set with this poem, you did an excellant job. At first glance I was not too crazy about it because of the irregular rhyming patterns you used, but then again, I am a rhyming poet myself, free verse is just not me. But on second glance, you were setting the mood of the story, the introduction of a small town girl dreaming of being famous

The part I really liked was stanzas 4-6:

%26quot;As the sun went down,

She lost disguise, un-zipped her top

Spread out her thighs

A snort of crack, a quick shoot up

Bubbles gone, she’s back on top

Time to grace her stage again

Oh, such a glamorous way

To pay the bills, greasy poles

And one night thrills%26quot;

This was when you rhymed the most. This really showed the raw and graphic nature of what happens when a girl falls into desperation looking for fame without sucess, potential, or education- prostitution. You painted a very desperate scene, such as %26quot;spread out thighs%26quot;, %26quot;greasy poles%26quot;, %26quot;one night thrills%26quot;, %26quot;the snort of crack%26quot;, %26quot;unzipped top%26quot; etc.

I find everything else to be good, until the last stanza:

%26quot;She always wanted to be a star,

She was my star

She’s fallen now%26quot;

The description is poetic and profound, but what is the meaning behind it? Of course the narrative was in 3rd person I assume, but the reference to %26quot;She was my star, She’s fallen now%26quot; leaves me confused as to who the narrator is, perhaps a former bf/lover, but how would he have known of all this if she moved to Hollywood? I felt it was confusing.

But overall, I would certainly give this poem a 9 out of 10, because it painted a interesting story that was a tale of dreams and hopes mixed with pain and sorrow. I take one point away for the confusing ending, but overall, it was excellant through and through. Good luck and keep writing.
Reply:Everything up to the last two lines is great. I don%26#039;t see any grammatical problems, and even if they%26#039;re there, poetry doesn%26#039;t have to follow grammatical rules like regular prose; in fact, in most cases it shouldn%26#039;t.

However, your ending lines sound weak; the sentiment expressed is good, but you say it in a way that has become cliche. Try to think of something more original than the fallen star metaphor.
Reply:Hey kiddo. Not bad, but a little bit moralistic, for my taste. I think the ideas are conventional. I%26#039;d rather see a poem about how she still struggles for artistic integrity, even in this terrible situation.
Reply:I must say first off that I hate poetry!!! I think this is a great poem though. You showed your emotion and by the time I got to the end I felt bad for you and her. Great job like I said I hate poetry but you got me with this one so kudos.
Reply:I like the top verses, they have a jaunty rhythm. And I like the cynicism of the third to last verse.

I%26#039;m undecided about the last verse.
Reply:Pretty well for a 13 year old. Personally, prefer the ending of your poem as it rhyms best =).
Reply:It%26#039;s amazing! I sometimes wish I could write like that.

Where can I get dance shoes that fit all my "terms"?

I dance Latin Ballroom (Rumba, Samba, Cha-cha, Jive, Paso Doble).

My instructor said to buy a pair of sun-tan dance shoes for a competition coming up, because the pair I use right now are black. I already visited BDS in San Jose and Ballroom Connection. Do you know any other store located in the Bay Area that carries any pairs of shoes that follow the following terms?

My terms:

- tan (obviously)

- 2%26quot; heel

- size 7 1/2 or 8

- open-toe

- no buckle on the straps covering the toe (I tried out a shoe with a circular buckle on the toe and it dug into my foot. )

If you%26#039;re into brand-name shoes:

They come in Gold and Natural (light brown) but I don%26#039;t know if that%26#039;s what you want. They buckle is on the ankle so I think it should be OK. $67.50

^^ There are a BUNCH here to choose from but I think they are mostly if not all 2.5 inch heels.
Reply:Order your shoes online... cheaper that way, and most fitting guides are really true to size. Just be honest about your shoe size when buying them.

This site has quite a few options. I personally enjoy the Rachel style, for fit, comfort and also affordability. It does come in a tan satin.

What gifts do you buy for your boyfriend?

Dont say:

Cologne

Fishing stuff

Socks

Shoes

Pants

Belt Buckles

Jewlry.

Cause I dont do those things. There just not me. K.

Im not spending over 30$ here. Im cheap. But I want to spend ATLEAST 10

What gifts do you buy for your boyfriend?
Well, it depends on the relationship. If you%26#039;ve been intimate, something that you can both enjoy like massage oils, or maybe even a toy could be fun.

If you%26#039;re not intimate and you%26#039;re more the sentimental type, you could always do a photoframe of you guys.

Other than that, I find that the best gifts are things that mean something to you guys as a couple, that other people might not understand. Think along the lines of an inside joke, or a great date you had, that kind of thing.
Reply:* make him something or do something for him--cooking, painting, whatever

* tickets to some kind of sports event or show? i%26#039;m not sure how much that would cost though

* a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant, to the movies, to his favorite store

* MUSIC--if he%26#039;s into music, he%26#039;ll love an iTunes gift card, CD%26#039;s, or even a gift certificate to a music store

* if he plays an instrument, go for accesories for that (ex-guitar you could get a tab book, a stand, a tuner, a string winder, etc.)

* something special and vintage --if he%26#039;s into music, an old record; sports, a signed ball or old baseball cards, etc.

you can modify these too---if it%26#039;s a birthday gift, anniversary, whatever. good luck and just be creative!!

Does he like basketball? look on e-bay for signed basketballs.

Do you guys have a cute inside joke? try to find something relating to it.

The main thing is just to make sure this is a personalised gift...and that you actually took time into picking it out. If he loves you then I%26#039;m 100% there is nothing you could get him he would absolutely HATE...so...happy shopping!

Where should I get black "Mary-Jane" tap shoes?

Do you know of any good places to get black %26quot;mary-jane%26quot; tap shoes with a buckle? I want them to look cute too! I don%26#039;t like the ones on discount dance, any other websites, I have the local dance supply store, but I want to try online first.

Where should I get black %26quot;Mary-Jane%26quot; tap shoes?
The actual mary jane is a shoe by capezio, they made it after they discontinued the u-shell. If you want something more adult looking I HIGHLY suggest the Bailey Dolly. www.baileyslippershop.com

Order abiout a half size up. These are the only REAL dollys, theyre only made by this store and they ship worldwide. call if you want to to discuss it, theyll be open tomorrow at 10 eastern time! 716-634-0314
Reply:thanx for the 2 points!
Reply:Discount Dance pretty much has the widest selection of tap shoes you can find online. If you don%26#039;t like any of the ones there, then you probably won%26#039;t like any other tap shoes unless you find some obscure brand that has exactly what you want. Tap shoes don%26#039;t really have to look cute. They have to be functional over being fashionable. Go to your local dance store and see what they have there.
Reply:Try googling any goth stores, I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ll find it easily.

OK so called "peace" officers! let me give u a taste of marine corps boot camp, this is not the police........

academy, i posted my last question on this subject and as i predicted the majority of u, %26quot;police officers%26quot; condone the brutality of marine corps boot camp. il put it the way u may understand it. OK, back at the police academy, u didnt have a good day during training, suppose u had to bunk at the academy overnight, u are suddenly awakened by a blanket holding u down and u are on the recieving end of a blanket party, getting hit from all directions but held down so u cant identify anyone. is this LEGAL?? another case scenario, after a long day at the academy, even though the instructors told u not to look aroune while u eat, which is to me, stupid but anyway but if u do, he will whisper in your ear %26quot; you are done eating%26quot;, a totally illegal act!! recruits needs their nourishment. finally, what if u would drop your belt buckle in shoe polish? would u deserve a junior DI (drill instructor) to choke u and punch u hard in the abdomen? is this nescessary to make a fighting man?

OK so called %26quot;peace%26quot; officers! let me give u a taste of marine corps boot camp, this is not the police........
First off, quit being a pussy if your going to be a Marine. Second part of what you described is called %26quot;hazing%26quot;, but this is widely accepted in the Marine Corps. As for all the other stuff you mentioned it is part of your training, its called discipline, something you need to learn and something your DI is trying to teach you.

The Marine Corps does not want someone who is going to cry about somebody %26quot;whispering%26quot; in there ear, or telling them what to do, sounds like you don%26#039;t need to be in any type of Military, cause you just don%26#039;t get it.
Reply:Legal, no. But after reading your other questions (the same question over and over) it is certainly understandable why someone would hold you down and beat you.
Reply:Of course none of that is legal......but it is the %26quot;All Volunteer Service%26quot; and since the Marines don%26#039;t baby blue suit no one anymore, you can leave whenever you like just say I can%26#039;t hack it and go home - eventually. What did you think? It%26#039;s the friggin Marines. Should have joined the Air Force.

SEMPRE FI
Reply:Ok, so you apparently washed out of boot camp. Make no mistake, the majority of police officers are also veterans. If you were the recipient of a blanket party while in training, you most likely deserved it. If you don%26#039;t have enough self discipline to sit, eat and shut up then you likely didn%26#039;t belong there anyway. To answer your question, Yes, self discipline is necessary to make a fighting man.
Reply:You are such a hoser. The closest you%26#039;ve been to Marine Boot Camp is WATCHING Full Metal Jacket.

Pack your lunch and head off to school.................
Reply:do you want marines who are tough or politically correct? yeah, boot camp can be bad but so is war.
Reply:There are restrictions on the behavior of DI%26#039;s. Cursing and physical punishment are banned by military regulation, at least in the Army when I was in boot camp.

Try your chain of command, however, failing that, try calling the Pentegon for answers.

Some of the stuff like the blanket party isn%26#039;t legal but borders on %26quot;so what?%26quot;. But the DI choking and punching you is the real situation. I would definitly report that. Or hit him back when it%26#039;s just the two of you.
Reply:I am not sure what anyone would expect if they joined the Marines. To sit around the campfire holding hands, doing a big group hug and singing Kumbaya? GREAT training for dealing with an enemy if need be.
Reply:I%26#039;ll put it to you like this..when you are in the academy / boot camp environment you need to learn to grin and bear it...Things are structured and disciplined for a reason. No one wants a soldier or an officer to be a big P***y. You obviously didnt want to be there and obviously couldnt hack the discipline..If you were given a blanket party then you probably deserved it. Academy/Boot camp justice is quick and harsh...That way you know not to do it again...and the blanket party was given to you by your recruits not your DI .. so even your own brethern thought you were a maggot...Legality has nothing to do with it. Hazing has been part of military society in one form or another since its inception. right wrong or indifferent you and your liberal group hug views will not change that fact....Move on with your life and go be florist( no offense to florists out there) if your feelings got hurt so easy..or better yet Mcdonalds is always hiring. I think that would suit you better.
Reply:OK You little bed wetter. You need to at the F*** ease. You%26#039;re obviously an Air Force boot camp washout and/or your pissed at the cop who just gave you a ticket. 1st off you watch too many movies.

I%26#039;ve been through both Marine Corp Recruit Training (boot camp 3 months, served 4 years, Honorable Discharge) and am currently a Law Enforcement Agent of 15 years (5 month Academy). Both were TOUGH. They are intended to be.

If you%26#039;re looking for an easy gig, look somewhere else, besides where people shoot at you.

Try dropping your belt buckle (or anything else when your laying in an ambush) you just killed your whole squad, you worthless sub-amphibian piece of S***.

I can remember many %26quot;meals%26quot; of duck soup, %26quot;Duck in and soup it down maggots%26quot;. You also didn%26#039;t want to leave anything on your tray, BIG NO NO.

As far as physical abuse, possible, but not likely. If you have proof contact an attorney.

Stress, you betcha. Can%26#039;t hack it, pack it. I don%26#039;t want to have to look after your sorry, pantie wetting *** when the rounds are coming down range.

Also go back to high school (which you obviously didn%26#039;t finish) and retake the English 101 course. The one that covered spelling, punctuation and sentence/paragraph structure. Moron.
Reply:Calm down. You can quit if you want to. However, you%26#039;re missing the point.

What is supposed to happen is for you to learn discipline, and that even simple mistakes can cost you dearly. This is invaluable when you%26#039;re in the Marines. Lives have to depend on you not making these simple mistakes-even an involuntary act like sneezing can alert an enemy of your location. It%26#039;s far better to learn that the easy way (which is what you%26#039;re referring to here) then to find out when lives can actually be lost. The harder the consequences now, the harder you%26#039;ll try not to do it next time.
Reply:I%26#039;ve read this and some of your other questions. #1, I don%26#039;t believe you ever went to Marine Corps boot camp. #2, IF by some slight possibility I am wrong, you got EXACTLY what you deserved.
Reply:Check out his other questions and answers. He%26#039;s never been a Marine, just watched Full Metal Jacket too many times.
Reply:Not everyone can handle being a Marine. Their boot camp is not supposed to be enjoyable. If you can%26#039;t handle it, get out and quit whining.

Cant get over the fact that my drill instructor beat me up over something as simple as dropping my belt.......

buckle in shoe polish! we had one fat recruit whose name is weisenhunt but the drill instructors called him weisen-Funk! totally unnecessary!!! how many of u agree?

Cant get over the fact that my drill instructor beat me up over something as simple as dropping my belt.......
Man, that%26#039;s tough. I can%26#039;t imagine a drill instructor being so insensitive to your feelings.

Good grief, man, you joined the military! What did you expect, tea time in the afternoon?!?!? Suck it up and be a man. You are being trained to follow orders and defend this country. If you can%26#039;t handle the heat of boot camp, how do you expect to function in a combat situation?
Reply:I think you whine too much. If you can%26#039;t take a little name calling, how are you going to handle being in battle.
Reply:Grow up and get therapy. I%26#039;m not sure you were even in....did you even get thru Boot camp?
Reply:What are you doing dropping your belt buckle in shoe polish soldier? Now drop and give me 20 for asking such a stupid question.
Reply:Suck it up, in combat you can die for something as stupid as dropping a rifle, or forgetting to put your rifle on safe. DI%26#039;s punish mistakes so you make less of them in a combat situation.
Reply:I think you%26#039;ve misunderstood DI%26#039;s intentions.

If you just give him a chance and tell him that you think there has been a misunderstanding, he will clear it up for you.
Reply:I think you are full of crap. Assaulting recruits went out in the army in the 60%26#039;s and in The Marines in the 70%26quot;s. Quit trying to give both a bad name.

Checked your profile. 491 questions and everyone of them bad-mouthing The Marines. Don%26#039;t think you were ever in The Corps.
Reply:Big big mistake in this one, they no longer use shoe polish in the suck because we are issued corframs and both sets of boots are brushed suede. I was actually one of the last cycles to receive the old woodlands and both sets of black boots.and nope, there is not now nor has there ever been a time when in boot that a recruit is given access to the internet.Hell, you can%26#039;t even make a phone call unless %26quot;Daddy%26quot; is the one letting you make that call. Now go play nice and leave the big boys to do your fighting.
Reply:Maybe you shouldn%26#039;t drop your belt.
Reply:I bet he %26quot;beat%26quot; you up!

I know I would single you out for Special High Intensity Training(S.H.I.T)

Reply:Gaaa if this si true boot camp has fallen to new lows.. letting recruits ont he internet.. whats next letting them go home on the weekends?
Reply:If you drop something as %26quot;simple%26quot; as your belt, imagine what would happen to you if you drop your weapon in combat... Simple huh???
Reply:No offense to you but that%26#039;s what they are supposed to do. They play games with your head and try to make you think your all screwed up. They do these things to see how strong you are and how much you can take. They will try to break you down as far as they can but it really does get better. Once you make it and you prove yourself, being in the military is like having a whole other family.
Reply:first off nobody and i mean nobody has the right to even touch you to do harm to you as you can in fact bring them up on charges.the answer to the 2nd ? is that all the person has to do is ask that person to please do not misprounce my name in that manner,if it contuines then you can bring that person up on charges for harasment. [ or go see your command sgt.major/command master chief.

What's the name of this song?

I heard it on the radio and they didn%26#039;t say what it%26#039;s called. And plus I couldn%26#039;t hear it very well with all the static. It sounds heavy metal, and it is sung by a guy. At the beginning it repeats %26quot;ring around the rosie, pockets full of posies, ashes, ashes we all fall down%26quot; but in this scary deep voice. And then it goes to what I think was the chorus, I couldn%26#039;t make out what they said though. And then in the same deep voice it repeated %26quot;one two, buckle my shoe,%26quot; etc. followed by the rest of the rhyme. it%26#039;s a weird song, anyone ever heard it?

What is the piece of classical music in the latest Sony TV ad with the huge, colourful explosions of paint?

The latest TV advertisement for the Sony Bravia television shows a council estate awash with colourful waves of paint.

It%26#039;s a striking and spectacular ad, and everyone I know who has seen it has commented on what a visual spectacle it is - but it%26#039;s the orchestral musical score in the background of the ad that I%26#039;m interested in.

This particular piece of classical music has been haunting me since I was six. While other kids my age were being bombarded with %26quot;One, Two, Buckle My Shoe%26quot; and %26quot;The Wheels On The Bus,%26quot; this is what I was listening to.

So, anyone, can you identify the piece for me? Ten points for correct identification, and one grateful Fiat Knox.

What is the piece of classical music in the latest Sony TV ad with the huge, colourful explosions of paint?
The music in the ad is the Overture to the %26#039;Thieving Magpie%26#039;. The Thieving Magpie itself is an opera.

The opera concerns a young maidservant accused of stealing a silver spoon. She is then sentenced to death (a bit over the top, but this is Opera)....the real culprit turns out to be a magpie - hence, %26#039;The Thieving Magpie%26#039;.

The Overture was written by Rossini on the opening day of the opera!
Reply:yes its Rossinies The theiving magpie.

Do u belive this story, its true!?

In the year 1997, the same year my younger sister was born, my family moved into

a 15 year old duplex two blocks from the beach. For ten years, we lived in that

house. It turned me, and all of my friends, into true believers of ghosts.

I had a lot of ghostly experiences from the day

we moved in. That night, we received news that

my great grandmother had passed away. My

mom stayed up late with my dad crying. At about

three o%26#039;clock in the morning, they heard music

coming from my bedroom. They went downstairs

to check on me and found me fast asleep.

However, the music box of great grandmother

was sitting on my desk, and it was playing. As

soon as my parents entered the room, it stopped.

Years later, I began to see apparitions of a young girl in an orange sweater and

skirt, wearing black shoes that buckled. She appeared to have freckles, long

brown hair, and was slightly transparent.

Another ghostly encounter I had in that room was when I was

sitting on my bed and felt a sharp tug on my hair, and my head

jerked back. I had many dreams about the girl, who I decided to

call Riel, and in one dream she was lying on the floor bleeding

from her head. When I awoke, I found her standing at the foot of

my bed. On my thirteenth birthday, I had some friends over for

the night. We all slept in my bedroom. I noticed that one of my

friends seemed slightly agitated. When I asked her about it, she

denied it, but at school the next week she told me she had seen

a young girl while in my bedroom. The girl had stared at my

friend for quite some time before disappearing.

I have had many more frightening encounters in that house, and

if I had the time, I would write them.

Do u belive this story, its true!?
i could believe that i guess. i have a friend who lives in a house that a man committed suicide in. the TV%26#039;s go off and on when no one is around, the attic door opens and shuts on its own, she won%26#039;t even sleep in her own room she%26#039;s so freaked out. my g-ma%26#039;s house is haunted by like my great grandfather or something, she%26#039;s heard him walking on the stairs coming in from the barn even when everyone is in bed asleep except her.
Reply:I believe you, I%26#039;ve had experiences my whole life. I live in a house right now where I have seen a girl, about 10 years old I would guess, in a white vintage dress with light blue ribbon edging. I never said anything about seeing her. Several months ago, my daughter kept complaining of being scared in her room. She finally told me, although she was afraid I would think she was lying, that she had been seeing a little girl in her room. She described the girl I had been seeing. A friend of my husband later told me in July he saw her outside in our yard. He had no knowledge of the ghost, we never told him. He described her exactly the same way. I could write a book about all of the things that have happened to me.
Reply:umm... have u seen a haunting? its on discovery channel every day at 3 in the afternoon. submit ur story and they can tell u if its real or not. then, they can re-inact that story with actors and actresses for ur story to be on a haunting. but sometimes the stories on a haunting r plain fake. i%26#039;m not sure if i believe in ghosts but u seem serious, so submit ur story! check it out on discoverychannel.com or something!

Reply:Our friend and neighbor of hispanic decent recently passed away- a small group had gathered in his apartment and were quietly listening to some old rock on the radio- the signal suddenly went dead and moments later came back-loudly, I might add, playing a hispanic style of music- this lasted a couple minutes, the signal went dead again, then resumed the quiet rock- All that were present are sure it was our friends way of making contact from the other side- I believe your story!!!
Reply:I believe you. I have never had any ghostly experiences but my friend has had a few... and when she tells me about them she%26#039;s really freaked out which makes me know that they%26#039;re true because she doesn%26#039;t really freak out about anything else.

Also, my sister told me a story about her friend%26#039;s friend, who%26#039;s dad passed away. Every night, the door to her friend%26#039;s room would open, something would brush her shoulder, and then the door would close.

Good luck with your ghosts!

brown hair, and was a little transparent, dont belive me? email me if u dont!!!!!
Reply:yea sure
Reply:i understand u, and i believe u, good luck, this might be dangerous, u should call someone like ghost busters or something, there might be like a portal, or u should find a way to comunicate with it like pendulum or oija but those r dangerous also! www.realmagick.com is a good site to help u!
Reply:I do believe this story. Have you tried telling the girl ghost to go to the light? It%26#039;s sad that she is stuck here when she could cross over to heaven and be happy.
Reply:my mom had this show on onetime about these people who lived in a duplex that when it burned down the flames made the devils symbol... and after that they rebuilt it and the next family to move in was haunted... and then it followed them till they got an exersium... so now i know... im never going to live in a duplex! and if i were u i would have slept out side in a tent forever....
Reply:i belive you
Reply:oh my gosh that house is haunted by the sad spirit of a girl!

maybe your friend - the girl - was going to have some really bad trouble on the way.... really REALLY bad trouble!

I know America loves abusive Marine drill instructors but i will ask this question anyway, during boot camp...

i accidently dropped my belt buckle in shoe polish, with my luck, one of the junior drill instructors, the killhat wanted to inspect mine! he saw it was full of shoe polish, he told me to meet him in the whiskey locker(closet). once we were inside he asked me, why i had shoe polish on my buckle, i told him this recruit wont allow this to happen again and he only repeated his question, i again was beginning to give him the same answer and he grabbed my throat. i couldnt breathe by the way he grabbed me and he called me a f%ckup. he told me not to do it again and he punched me hard in the stomach. was he right? most of u will say he was even though him hitting me was illegal. why so much of a big deal over a belt buckle? please answer the question whether he was right or wrong and give an explanation

I know America loves abusive Marine drill instructors but i will ask this question anyway, during boot camp...
I think you are a liar.
Reply:Well phoenix, We marines don%26#039;t like to be called soldiers. (Thats the %26quot;army men%26quot;).

DI%26#039;s do hit recruits and it is only to make them tougher. War isn%26#039;t easy!

I bet you didn%26#039;t drop your belt buckle in shoe polish again did you? Does your stomach still hurt? Didn%26#039;t think so. So whats the big deal. When I was in boot camp, my DI would hit recruits so hard he would draw blood and break portholes (glasses) off your face. But in the end, the pain was worth it.
Reply:Basic Training is supposed to teach you how to grow up (something that takes a long time) in a very small amount of time. How do they do it? By fear, usually. How long have you been in the Marines now? Basically, I know it sucks, and it was illegal... but it usually gets the point across.
Reply:Every hear the phrase %26#039;attention to detail%26#039;? I don%26#039;t know about the Marine Corp, but in Navy bootcamp and throughout my service, this was drilled into our heads. A dirty buckle may seem insignificant to you, but this kind of sloppyness can lead to someone loosing a life, maybe even your own, on the battlefield. As for the question of whether or not it is legal is besides the point. Grow a pair and suck it up. That uniform is to be worn by the chosen few, not every whiner to come down the pike. Oh yeah, quit being a f***up.

Reply:I doubt very much if you was able to send that question while you was in boot camp, so you either made it up or you waited until you finished boot camp - if you acutally did finish and not be dropped - and got around a computer. Marine DI%26#039;s have the job of turning a bunch of strangers into fighting Marines, able to be team players and willing to defend our country against all enemies. The reason he %26#039;jacked%26#039; you up over the belt buckle, was because you made a mistake, mistakes get fellow Marines killed in combat, therefore, you should not make mistakes, if you got away with it in boot camp, your liable to make a mistake in combat, understand now? You wasn%26#039;t admitting you made a mistake, the holding you like he did was to make you remember why he was asking you that. To sink in the idea that mistakes can cause pain, sometimes even death.

I been hit by a drill instructor only twice in boot camp and blanket partied only once. the worst one.........

happened when i accidently dropped my brass belt buckle in shoe polish. one of the junior drill instructors, the kill hat, brought me in the whiskey locker. he calmly asked me, why is there shoe polish on your brass belt buckle? i told him, no excuse sir it will never happen again. he looked at the belt buckle and suddenly grabbed my throat with only 3 of his fingers, he was recon, i couldnt breathe! he kept asking me why i was all f@cked up but i was trying to gag for air but couldnt. he told me to get my head out of my *** and get with the program and suddenly he punched me hard in the stomach. do u all think the drill instructor done the right thing? whats so important about a frickin belt buckle? how is this %26quot;physical counseling%26quot; suppose to help me in a combat enviroment? over a stupid belt buckle

I been hit by a drill instructor only twice in boot camp and blanket partied only once. the worst one.........
Another made up story from somebody who never served
Reply:How long ago were you in? DIs can no longer get physical with recruits. And I believe blanket parties are frowned upon too.
Reply:Hmmm - another story which did not happen to you. Please don%26#039;t feel the need to post any more - please?
Reply:It sounds as if the DI%26#039;s question was valid and on point: Why are you all f@cked up? Recruit training also weeds out those who don%26#039;t belong, can%26#039;t cut it as a Marine %26amp; would ultimately lead to the death of other Marines in a combat situation. Sounds like you. Your veracity is questionable and your credibility is non-existent. If you want to prove to all of us that you were USMC, as you claim - post proof. Oh wait; you don%26#039;t have an enlistment contract, any orders or a DD214, do you?
Reply:James your an idiot. You have no clue about War or Iraq.

To the asker: I don;t know if you are trying to some how harm the Marine Corps or what, but you need to get over it. You survived boot. Quite being a puss, be glad you were tough enough to survive it and move on. Have some damn pride in yourself and the Corps.
Reply:You really are you a total Pussy...you also violated me for saying so.

You arer a big disgrace to the Marine Corps and manhood, in general.

You got whacked twice and a blanket party,,tells me no one liked you..Most recruits are lucky to whaked once..You managed twice+ a Party....LOSER

My platoon, in the Old Corps, had one blanket party...and we soon got rid of the weasel

Your Belt Buckle could have been a Grenade...BOOM all killed. Or a magazine and the sound of it dropping alert the Bad Guys. In VietNam, sometimes there was only 20 yards between us and Charlie..

Now put your graduation book into the recycle bin, and forget about Boot Camp...You are NO MARINE........SEMPER FOO !!!!
Reply:You my friend are a liar first off no internet access in basic second stop trying to tarnish our military six and a half years ago I got smacked around a little and ya it helped me in combat I wont lie but the bullshit your talking about is a lie so why even make it up.
Reply:When you kill innocent people in Iraq you will become a murderer and that means you will go to hell. I think you have more important things to worry about than a belt buckle, buddy.

And you%26#039;re a murderer. I%26#039;d rather be an idiot quite frankly.

What is an Egyptian Pilgrim?

I get an image of king tut in big buckle shoes and a funny hat!

My granddaughter%26#039;s teacher told her she is Egyptian and a Pilgrim. I thought she was making the comparison about early American pilgrims so the children would understand immigration. But when I looked it up on the internet (trying to find a funny picture) what I found suggests that Egyptian Pilgrims might be part of a religion. Does anyone know?

What is an Egyptian Pilgrim?
She is an Egyptian and a Muslim who has done pilgrimage. i.e. a muslim who has done this sacred muslims%26#039; ritual.

They are called (before their first name) Haj or Hag for a man, Haja or Haga for a woman, this is considered as a title added to someone who has done this pilgrimage. It also adds sense of pride to the muslim who have done it.

But, coming from the area of fetish groups..some parties have put a ban on the catholic school girl outfits just on the basis that most catholic school girls are minors...thus, being attracted to somoene in the same outfit might put one in the category as somoene who prefers the company of minors over adults. Britney spears realy helped that look...just a touch

In what past age you would like to have lived? In prehistoric times, Roman empire...?

Or more recently the 18th century with all the powdered wigs and breeches and buckled shoes [George Washington looked that funny!], 19th century with those long and big skirts and those corsets, or the 1950s with Elvis Presley, beatniks and the hydrogen bomb? Provided there was a time machine. What do you think?

P.D.: I would like to have lived in the Medieval times with the crusades. WOW! Meet Richard the Lionhearted, Saladin or Ghengis Khan.

In what past age you would like to have lived? In prehistoric times, Roman empire...?
the problem with living to far in the past, is the short life span of the population either by war, disease or poor medical, hence it think at best 1920%26#039;s let the party begin

Reply:Victorian, because the world had some order instead of being ruled by a monarchy.

Sometimes I would like to live in the 14th century also.
Reply:I would have liked to live in 18th century England. It seems like a much prettier time!

Plus I read a bunch of books that were based in that time and they%26#039;re all really good!

Of course, I%26#039;m not too out of sorts with the time I%26#039;m living right now!

How should I dress "festive" to show my dogs at Thanksgiving time?

Should I just wear orange %26amp; brown or what?

I don%26#039;t have any of those buckle shoes that the pilgrims wore.

How should I dress %26quot;festive%26quot; to show my dogs at Thanksgiving time?
i wouldn%26#039;t get too over the top. look professional...but use fall colors? maybe a nice necklace or something...or some kind of hair accessory. keep it simple.
Reply:Get it simple it%26#039;s a dog show not a costume show.

Keep in the earth tone shade that will complement with your dogs coat color.

A pin, necklace, and or ear ring with Autumn theme like leaves, cornucopia, a turkey if tasteful etc...
Reply:Do you have a pilgrim hat? Just kidding ...

I would just do orange, red and brown. If you have any fall sweaters, those would do as well.
Reply:Sure do it,that sounds fun.Take some foil and wrap it around card board shaped like buckles. Then just tape them on top of the shoe. That would look so good.Good luck at the show.
Reply:Fun though it may be, remember that it is the dog that is being showcased, not the handler.

I wouldn%26#039;t get too fancy. And make sure whatever colors you wear show off your dogs to their best advantage. Try the outfit out by stacking your dogs in front of a mirror.
Reply:wear something with fall leaves on it and brown and orange

Do you think we should cut the Crap of the high cost to the taxpayer for the Mayor of London?

What constitues child abuse?

simply swatting your child across the face with your hand?

Spanking with a belt buckle

shoes,brooms,

I keep getting complaints from my childs school that they have too many burises

What constitues child abuse?
All of the above constitute child abuse. You are allowed to spank your child on the butt only with your hand, no belts , shoes, brooms etc.
Reply:Times have changed. There used to be a wood shed used as a whipping post. The word was spare the rod and spoil the child. That was then, this is now.

If your childs school is complaining that your children have too many bruises, it is a red flag that you may be mistreating your children and you risk having them removed by child protective services. I think you should take a long hard look at your parenting skills and for the sake of your children reach out for help before someone is seriously hurt and there is forced intervention.
Reply:If you%26#039;re hitting your children hard enough to leave bruises then you need to seek professional help. You need to learn to verbalize, instead of swinging your fists at the one%26#039;s you love.

Can you help me in identifying an antique doll ? She is Porcelain.?
There is no way of knowing that unless you find a mark...

Usually located either on the bottom of one of the feet or somewhere under the wig on the back of the head.

If it says 666... Throw it away immediately! ( Kidding... )

Unless you consult a doll specific antiques expert that knows dolls by feature and paint and quality of the porcelain... It is almost impossible for a regular collector to know without a mark.
Reply:look through eBay

google for information

consult a local toy, doll, hobby shop

consult a local antique store

It could be worth $30? or maybe more

Its most likely bisque and made in Germany

I%26#039;m thinking of buring them. do you think they%26#039;re worth it? and will it be ok to wear with jeans and trousers during the winter instead of boots?

I prefer boots.
Reply:i dont like them....they are very pointy and unflattering.
Reply:Well its your taste, but personally I think they are disgusting. You would be better off spending £50 on some nice leather boots. But if you like them you buy them.

personally, not my style, but if you feel comfortable in them then buy it!!
Reply:I think they are cute for many occasions. However, I wouldn%26#039;t wear them as everyday shoes or in the snow. They would probably get ruined really fast that way. Buy a pair of boots as well and alternate the two. Good Luck with your choice!
Reply:I can%26#039;t imagine them looking good on anyone. Well, maybe a man. They kind of remind me of men%26#039;s Italian loafers. I think my brother-in-law has a pair.
