OK so called "peace" officers! let me give u a taste of marine corps boot camp, this is not the police........

academy, i posted my last question on this subject and as i predicted the majority of u, %26quot;police officers%26quot; condone the brutality of marine corps boot camp. il put it the way u may understand it. OK, back at the police academy, u didnt have a good day during training, suppose u had to bunk at the academy overnight, u are suddenly awakened by a blanket holding u down and u are on the recieving end of a blanket party, getting hit from all directions but held down so u cant identify anyone. is this LEGAL?? another case scenario, after a long day at the academy, even though the instructors told u not to look aroune while u eat, which is to me, stupid but anyway but if u do, he will whisper in your ear %26quot; you are done eating%26quot;, a totally illegal act!! recruits needs their nourishment. finally, what if u would drop your belt buckle in shoe polish? would u deserve a junior DI (drill instructor) to choke u and punch u hard in the abdomen? is this nescessary to make a fighting man?

First off, quit being a pussy if your going to be a Marine. Second part of what you described is called %26quot;hazing%26quot;, but this is widely accepted in the Marine Corps. As for all the other stuff you mentioned it is part of your training, its called discipline, something you need to learn and something your DI is trying to teach you.


The Marine Corps does not want someone who is going to cry about somebody %26quot;whispering%26quot; in there ear, or telling them what to do, sounds like you don%26#039;t need to be in any type of Military, cause you just don%26#039;t get it.

Reply:Ok, so you apparently washed out of boot camp. Make no mistake, the majority of police officers are also veterans. If you were the recipient of a blanket party while in training, you most likely deserved it. If you don%26#039;t have enough self discipline to sit, eat and shut up then you likely didn%26#039;t belong there anyway. To answer your question, Yes, self discipline is necessary to make a fighting man.

Reply:There are restrictions on the behavior of DI%26#039;s. Cursing and physical punishment are banned by military regulation, at least in the Army when I was in boot camp.


Try your chain of command, however, failing that, try calling the Pentegon for answers.


Some of the stuff like the blanket party isn%26#039;t legal but borders on %26quot;so what?%26quot;. But the DI choking and punching you is the real situation. I would definitly report that. Or hit him back when it%26#039;s just the two of you.

No one wants a soldier or an officer to be a big P***y. You obviously didnt want to be there and obviously couldnt hack the discipline..If you were given a blanket party then you probably deserved it. Academy/Boot camp justice is quick and harsh...That way you know not to do it again...and the blanket party was given to you by your recruits not your DI .. so even your own brethern thought you were a maggot...Legality has nothing to do with it. Hazing has been part of military society in one form or another since its inception. right wrong or indifferent you and your liberal group hug views will not change that fact....Move on with your life and go be florist( no offense to florists out there) if your feelings got hurt so easy..or better yet Mcdonalds is always hiring. I%26#039;ve been through both Marine Corp Recruit Training (boot camp 3 months, served 4 years, Honorable Discharge) and am currently a Law Enforcement Agent of 15 years (5 month Academy). Both were TOUGH. They are intended to be.

What is supposed to happen is for you to learn discipline, and that even simple mistakes can cost you dearly. This is invaluable when you%26#039;re in the Marines. Lives have to depend on you not making these simple mistakes-even an involuntary act like sneezing can alert an enemy of your location. It%26#039;s far better to learn that the easy way (which is what you%26#039;re referring to here) then to find out when lives can actually be lost. The harder the consequences now, the harder you%26#039;ll try not to do it next time.
