What is the piece of classical music in the latest Sony TV ad with the huge, colourful explosions of paint?

The latest TV advertisement for the Sony Bravia television shows a council estate awash with colourful waves of paint.

It%26#039;s a striking and spectacular ad, and everyone I know who has seen it has commented on what a visual spectacle it is - but it%26#039;s the orchestral musical score in the background of the ad that I%26#039;m interested in.

This particular piece of classical music has been haunting me since I was six. While other kids my age were being bombarded with %26quot;One, Two, Buckle My Shoe%26quot; and %26quot;The Wheels On The Bus,%26quot; this is what I was listening to.

So, anyone, can you identify the piece for me? Ten points for correct identification, and one grateful Fiat Knox.

What is the piece of classical music in the latest Sony TV ad with the huge, colourful explosions of paint?
The music in the ad is the Overture to the %26#039;Thieving Magpie%26#039;. The Thieving Magpie itself is an opera.

The opera concerns a young maidservant accused of stealing a silver spoon. She is then sentenced to death (a bit over the top, but this is Opera)....the real culprit turns out to be a magpie - hence, %26#039;The Thieving Magpie%26#039;.

The Overture was written by Rossini on the opening day of the opera!
Reply:yes its Rossinies The theiving magpie.
